A death penalty would be vested on the 11 Muslim men if they are convicted of these crimes, as customary of the Islamic law, they would be stoned to death.
The Same-sex Marriage Bill as signed in by President Goodluck Jonathan on January 7, prohibits homosexual activities in the country and applies to all citizens irrespective of religion.
The Commissioner, Bauchi State Sharia Commission, Jibrin Danlami Hassan, said the alleged homosexuals were arrested by residents of Bauchi and handed to the Islamic police force.
He said the accused men confessed to their crimes after being interrogated.
“They accept that they are doing that dirty game,” Mr. Hassan told the BBC.
