A mother by the name of Nina Nelson forever changed how I will think about buses. She and her family of six bought an old school bus and gave it one of the coolest makeovers ever. I’d live on this thing, like they do, 24/7.
The first step was buying a school bus (check).
And then building from the ground up.
Their “bus” was going to include a working bathroom…
Bedrooms…
And even hardwood flooring.
The Nelsons had 4 kids, so they constructed bunk beds in front of the master bed.
Already looking cozy!
The Nelsons set up the bus to be lived on all of the time.
They moved in before it was completely finished. They just couldn’t wait.
Being a kid on this bus would have been a dream come true.
There was a full kitchen and bathroom.
With more counter space than I have in my own apartment.
As well as storage.
Let the adventures begin!
Being in such close quarters to each other does have its benefits. The Nelson children were already home schooled, so lessons on the school bus made perfect sense.
Kudos to the Nelsons for giving their children the opportunity of a lifetime: to have an adventure. They can settle down on their homestead in Oregon, or they can travel around as much as they want. They know what freedom truly is.
